Overview
Redeemer’s University was founded in 2005 in Ede, Osun State, as a visionary private university established by the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Created as a faith-driven institution, the university was designed to combine strong moral values with academic excellence and national development goals. In January 2005, it received official licensing from the Federal Government of Nigeria and commenced academic activities later that same year with its first intake of students.
From its inception, the university has been committed to nurturing graduates who are innovative, self-reliant, and equipped with entrepreneurial and leadership skills necessary for meaningful societal impact. Its academic philosophy emphasizes character development alongside intellectual growth, preparing students to thrive both professionally and ethically.
In the 2019/2020 academic session, the institution undertook a strategic transformation, moving from a collegiate structure to a more dynamic faculty-based system. This restructuring expanded academic offerings and strengthened specialization across disciplines, leading to the establishment and enhancement of faculties such as Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, and other key fields. This evolution marked a new chapter in the university’s growth, reinforcing its position as a forward-looking institution committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
